Scope of work

Ursus was the final Bandido 80 to be delivered by Acacio Yachts. Her owner was captivated by their yacht yet wanted to optimise its performance, enhance hydrodynamics, and increase usable space to fully meet their needs. An extension was necessary.

In consultation with Mulder Design, we outlined a six-meter extension. We created a 3D scan of her hull to define her ideal length and optimum cut lines. Both the bow and stern were removed, and new steel sections were fabricated.

The tender garage was relocated from its original forward position to the aft, freeing up the foredeck for a new, inviting al fresco cocktail area.

Her sundeck was also extended, and now features a barbecue and Teppanyaki grill station, a comfortable seating area, and storage space for two Jet Skis. One of the largest transformations was made to her stern, where we installed a two-tiered beach club with a spacious open upper level and a waterside seating area below. This was a complex rebuild, with very few parts left untouched.

Yacht owner testimonial

“In 2018, we took over Ursus. She is originally build by a Dutch shipyard with a length of 24 metres, and transferred to Mallorca. In the following years we had the opportunity to sail and use the ship extensively in the Balearic waters. We liked the quality of the ship and life on board very much, but there were clear deficits in the performance.

We therefore decided to extend the ship in 2022 and improve its hydrodynamic properties at the same time. For this very complex task, only a Dutch shipyard came into question for us. We made a conscious decision in favour of Balk Shipyard in Urk. We are delighted with the result after approx. two years of planning and conversion.”
