Scope of work
The 48.70m sailing yacht Rossiya has had a colourful life. Initially built as a traditional Dutch fishing trawler, she was later converted into a square-rigged vessel. She was designed for commercial use and regularly visited Balk Shipyard for maintenance work.
Inspired by our flagship sailing yacht Mikhail S. Vorontsov, the Owner decided upon a full rebuild for Rossiya to convert her into a luxurious superyacht. We worked closely with Olivier van Meer, the original designer, the owner’s team and a naval architect on this two-year rebuild.
We completely stripped the exterior and interior of Rossiya and rebuilt her to superyacht standards. The masts were shortened and relocated. New sails were fitted and the decks were laid with teak. We fitted a stylish staircase for the central deck house and reimagined all stanchions and handgrips.
Rossiya left Urk a brand-new yacht with a traditional spirit. After a successful series of sea trials, Rossiya departed to Scarlett Sails of St. Petersburg in Russia, where she played the leading role in a famous festival.
