Pioneer was refitted at Balk Shipyard in 2007 with the brief to redefine the onboard social spaces. In keeping with the Owner’s lifestyle, we upgraded two key areas to emphasise entertainment: the saloon and the sun deck.

When a new Owner purchased the 46.20m Palmer Johnson explorer yacht Pioneer in 2006, they felt the social spaces could be refined and developed. Entertainment was important to them and they wanted their yacht to reflect their lifestyle.
We undertook the project and made their wishes a reality. Working closely with the original design team and naval architects at Vripack. We transformed the sun deck into a multifunctional entertainment area, installing a wet bar and numerous other features. The saloon and library were also redesigned into a social area that could comfortably host large events.

Other work included a partial paint job, new upholstery, upgrades to the technical and navigational systems and the installation of a new cool room. The HVAC system was also reconditioned and the outstanding classification items finalised.
